2001 - 2003, National Open Field Coursing Association:
Coursing Champion (CC) , which requires 100 pts. and 2AK’s or 1UK.

Obtained his CC in 9 hunt weekends

Qualified for the NOFCA Grand Course the 2 years he participated in NOFCA in most hunts in New Mexico, 2001 and 2002.

2001 NOFCA Grand Course:
Tied for 2nd place, 1 pt. away from 1st, in the Saluki breed hunt. This was the first year he qualified, and we attended the GC that year. We were unable to attend the mixed hunt as they had to postpone it until another weekend in the middle of the hunt, and we had to fly home. We did not attend the 2nd year he qualified.

Moosie was the first Saluki to ever wear a tracking wire in an elastic harness while coursing, and he did so his entire career on the coursing field.

The harness was designed by Ingrid Romanowski and the tracking wire and equipment was adapted from falcon tracking equipment. With his great results in coursing, even while wearing the elastic harness, other salukis and clubs began to use this equipment as well. It is a fantastic way to be able to find your dog again if he doesn’t return from a hunt due to losing his/her way or injury!

I will always be grateful to Ingrid for doing the research on the equipment and designing the harness. It was a great feeling to know you could put your hands on your dog again even if he was somewhere miles away and was unable to return.
